وفي الرسالة الأولى تنتهي المسودة بعبارة ⁦«please don't hate me, i promise we'll do whatever you want next time»⁩ (أي: رجاء ألا تغضب مني، ووعد بأن يكون الاختيار لك في المرة القادمة)؛ ويضع عليها ⁦Subtext⁩ الوسمين ⁦«Validation seeking»⁩ (طلب التأييد) و ⁦«Overpromise»⁩ (المبالغة في الوعود)، وتقول صياغته الأولى: ⁦«Heyy, I'm so sorry, but I don't think I can make it tonight after all. I know I said I'd come and I feel bad about it. Can we find another time soon? I'd love to make it up to you.‎»⁩ (أي: اعتذار عن تعذّر الحضور الليلة، مع طلب موعد آخر قريب ورغبة في التعويض).

hey sorry to bug you again!! i know you're super busy but did you maybe get a chance to look at the invoice i sent last week? no rush at all seriously whenever is fine

Subtext

Over-apologizing
"sorry to bug you again!!" and "I know you're super busy" put you in a small position for a normal request.
Mixed messages
"no rush at all seriously whenever is fine" undercuts the follow-up, so the reader may not know you actually need an answer.
Excess exclamation
The double exclamation marks add nervous energy.
Apprehension
You sound nervous about nudging again and want to avoid seeming pushy.

Following up can feel awkward, but it's completely reasonable. Here are a few versions that stay friendly without apologizing so much.

Brené Brown.

look i really need u to stop sending voice msgs without any text... it freaks me out and u know that but u keep doing it anyway?!!

02

مربع الإدخال لا يقول سوى «Write or ask me to...‎» (أي: اكتب أو اطلب مني).

What should your reply get across most?

04

Make it warmer and add empathy if necessary.

Make it shorter without switching the language of the message.

Sound more natural

Add one good joke that makes the reader smile. Make it about something in this message, not one that would fit any message, and phrase it the way a witty native speaker would. Keep it kind and suited to the tone of the message, never at the other person's expense. Don't add a promise or a fact I didn't write.

Make it sound confident (but keep it empathetic if possible).

05

Subtext Draft

You didn't do anything wrong. I just find it easier with a little text. I still love your voice messages, promise.

We're completely fine. It's a small thing that just helps my head. Nothing more than that.

All good. A quick line of text is all I meant. We're good.

06
