Say it badly, send it well
Subtext is built for the message you can say but cannot type. You talk through what happened and what you want, in whatever order it comes out, and it writes the message rather than a transcript: friendly and short by default, with the humour kept if there was any. If part of what you said was awkward or half-finished, one of the three versions is a proper rewrite that says the same thing well. Why a short reply takes an hour is about the gap this closes.
The voice messages you receive
Subtext transcribes a voice message someone sent you and tells you, in a few lines, what they are asking for and what needs an answer. That means you can deal with a two-minute voice note in a meeting, on a train, or without playing it out loud. Then it drafts the reply from what they actually said, picking up the thread instead of repeating it.
Still your voice, in text
Subtext keeps how you talk: your warmth, your directness, the words you use with this particular person. Tap shorter, warmer, more casual or add confidence to move a version, and every version carries its own verdict, safe to send or check before sending. If a draft comes out colder or sharper than you sounded, it marks the words responsible.
Which languages does it understand?
Subtext works in 17+ languages and writes the message in the language you spoke. A voice message in German gets a German summary and a German reply, and the formality is held at the level you used.

Does it just transcribe what I said?
No. A transcript of a rambling voice note is still a rambling message. Subtext writes the message you meant, and shows you three versions of it.
Can I edit what it wrote?
Yes. Every version is editable, and you can move it again with shorter, warmer or add confidence before you copy it out.
Is a voice message I receive kept private?
It is transcribed so it can be read and stored so you can return to the conversation, never used to train an AI model, and deleted with the conversation five days after you last opened it unless you pin it.
